			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://evem.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/r18_petition.gif" alt="" title="r18_petition" width="175" height="282" class="alignright size-full wp-image-185" /><a href="http://www.ebgames.com.au/">EB Games</a> appears to have joined forces with the <a href="http://www.growupaustralia.com/">Grow Up Australia campaign</a> and is promoting their petition to the Australian government to have a classification for games that matches the one we have for movies. The notable omission from our current game classification system is R18+.</p>
<p>Instead these games get an RC rating: Refused Classification. And since the government seems to be on the war path against Refused Classification material &#8212; the proposed mandatory web filter will prohibit RC material &#8212; it&#8217;s important to get an R18+ rating. And since the <a href="http://www.kotaku.com.au/2008/10/how_old_is_the_average_australian_gamer_30/">average age of Australian gamers is 30</a>, it&#8217;s not like the children will suffer.</p>
